What to Bring
Please bring the following items:
ID that matches the name on your document. We usually only require one piece of ID but if the name does not match or if your document or receiving party requires us to check two then it’s best to bring more than one ID with you.
Your document. Please make sure that it is completed but not signed.
Do not bring anyone with you that does not need to sign a document.

Certified Copies
Please bring the following items:
The original document(s) that you need a certified copy of. Please note that we cannot make certified copies without seeing the original document(s).
Generally, you do not need to make copies of the document. In fact, it is usually faster if the Notary makes the copies.
In rare cases, the client may need to make the copy. For example, if the document is too large to fit in our copier. The client may need to go to a commercial printing service to obtain the copy.

Wills and Powers of Attorney (POAs)
At Maple Leaf we do not draft wills and powers of attorney or provide any legal advice. However, we can certainly notarize affidavits of execution to a will and attach the will as an exhibit to the affidavit(s). As notaries, we can also act as one of the witnesses to a power of attorney. Please read more about this on our Wills & POAs page.
Third-Parties
Please note the following :
- In most cases, we cannot communicate with the intended recipient of your document on your behalf. This means that we do not mail, fax, courier your notarized forms to third parties, nor should third parties send documents directly to us. Instead, clients should bring in the required forms to our office. Once notarized, we will give you the forms so that you can deliver them to the required recipients.
- We cannot call, email or otherwise contact a third party for instructions or directions. All such information should be given to you by the recipients prior to your meeting with the Notary.
